 Parts Purchasing / Scheduler
             
  The Transpacific Group of Companies is seeking applications from appropriately experienced employees for the position of Parts Purchasing / Scheduler. Details of the position are as follows.
   
  Company: Western Star Trucks Australia
   
  Location: Wacol, QLD
   
  Reports To: National Operations Manager
   
  Responsibilities:
  An opportunity currently exists for a Parts Purchasing Scheduler to join the Parts team for the Commercial Vehicles Division. Located in Brisbane’s South West and reporting to the National Operations Manager, the primary responsibilities of this position will be to purchase and process purchase orders for parts and ensure schedules for production are met for the Commercial Vehicles Group. Key duties of this position shall include (but are not limited to) ordering and purchasing parts and associated products for Production Department in line with departmental goals and in accordance with purchasing policies, procedures, schedules and approvals. This position will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiencies with parts ordering; data integrity and accurate orders including maintenance of freight and pricing accounts; transactions and data are recorded information systems; and items are delivered to meet operational demands (Production Schedule). The position will monitor compliance with preferred supplier arrangements, and analyse parts requirements while identifying suppliers with best pricing arrangements and lead times. This position will also be required to identify cost saving opportunity and process improvements and continually improve the level of service provided to production dept, customers and dealers.
   
  Experience / Qualifications Required:
  The successful candidate will ideally possess parts product knowledge and familiarity with heavy vehicle industry. The candidate will have demonstrable experience in customer service, administration, and purchasing. A strong customer focus with skills in communication and interpersonal communication, computer application and analytical skills will be essential to performing this role effectively. The candidate will be tertiary qualified with a Diploma or certificate in Business Administration.
